Last week, L2 released an Insight Report reviewing brands’ mobile efforts in 2014. Most brands in the study had mobile-optimized sites by the end of the study period (especially in Beauty, Specialty Retail and Auto), but responsive design remains a challenge. For example, in the digitally savvy Beauty category, just 56% of brands implement responsive design. And while 77% of Department Stores in the study had mobile optimized sites in 2013 and 2014, none had responsive design in 2013. By 2014, just 8% had implemented the feature.
