Last Tuesday at NYU Stern, we held our Spring clinic on “Disruption,” featuring some of the most prominent academics, industry leaders, and start-up entrepreneurs, all of whose work centers around ideas that have turned standards on their head–ideas that disrupt. One of the most interesting presentations of the day came from Josh Mohrer, General Manager of Uber NYC. Though almost everyone who lives in a major city (or who reads tech news sites) has at least heard of Uber, in his five-minute “elevator pitch,” Mohrer reintroduces the company through a Disruption lens. After you watch this video, you’ll realize Uber is actually much more than its “everyone’s private driver” tagline.
