In our newest video interview, L2’s Maureen Mullen weighs in on the tech topic of the month: Can Instagram Video and Vine peacefully coexist, or will one kill off the other? Preliminary analysis of engagement on both platforms has shown conflicting answers to these questions, but this is to be expected–after all, Vine, the older of the two, launched just six months ago to the day. But, as Mullen points out, Instavid enters the social scene with the huge advantage of Instagram’s built-in and highly engaged audience. As for brands, Mullen believes that creating successful content on each isn’t mutually exclusive and that if resources allow, presence on both is best.
