L2’s Digital IQ Index: Personal Care | US finds that e-tailers are investing more aggressively in Google Shopping than Google Adwords. Amazon ads appear in eight branded queries, while two-thirds of search results for branded queries displayed Google Shopping links from e-tailers. Of these results, 37% belonged to Drugstore.com, 17% to Walmart.com, 13% to Warmart.com, and 7% to Target.com.
E-commerce-enabled brand sites, however, were not present on Google Shopping results. Panasonic was the only brand to purchase links against its branded query, and the P&G e-store purchased sponsored links just for its safeguard products.
