In this new video, L2 Founder Scott Galloway speaks about the importance of visuals for the world’s fastest growing platforms WeChat, Snapchat, Instagram and WhatsApp. Three of the four were born on a mobile device, and understanding the DNA of how people interact with small screens was crucial to their expansion. They are also highly visual, another key to their success. Galloway says visuals are especially important because humans process visuals 50x faster than text. Brands have long understood the power of visuals, which made print their medium of choice. Galloway predicts brands will spend money on visual platforms such as WeChat and Instagram, reflected in Instagram’s $250 million to $450 million 2014 revenue as projected in Facebook’s earnings call.
