Department stores with internationally recognizable brand names (Nordstrom, Les Galleries Lafayette, John Lewis) can multiply their customer base with global e-commerce programs. Many are not doing so, thus limiting their scope. In this weeks Click and Mortar Clinic, L2 Head of Advisory Maureen Mullen pointed out the country-based divide evident in L2’s 2014 Digital IQ Index: Department Stores. Genius and Gifted categories consisted exclusively of U.S. and U.K. brands.
