In October 2016, Amazon announced significant changes to its community guidelines, banning reviews written in exchange for free products. The policy change, however, excludes the retailer's own Vine program. To evaluate the impact that Amazon Vine has on product ratings, L2 analyzed over 14,000 reviews written for top CPG and Beauty Amazon listings.
