Department stores have weathered a decline in annual sales of nearly $75 billion since 1999 largely due to Amazon's continued expansion into the space and disruption from pure play retailers like ASOS, Zappos, Wayfair, and Overstock. As organic visibility becomes harder to achieve and maintain, brands with strong paid and organic strategies reap the benefits of changing consumer search behavior.
