While CPG brands continue to move spend away from traditional trade marketing to digital platforms, grocers have yet to implement the range of content, functionalities, or media opportunities necessary to capture a significant share of spend. Less than half of grocers serve display advertisements on the homepage, category pages, or product pages, ceding control to early adopters like Amazon.
