Mobile Internet search trends indicate that consumers increasingly use their smartphones to discover and get directions to brick-and-mortar stores. Yet only 52 percent of Specialty Retail Index brands appear organically on first-page Google Maps search results for 50 sector-specific keyword searches. Brands are missing out on an opportunity to improve where they place in Google Maps search results.
